Product Use and Legal Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: READ BEFORE INSTALLING OR OPERATING THE HVAC FAN

Do not operate the blower fan unless the filter housing is fully seated, secure, and flush with the metal duct opening around the entire circular rim. Thank you for purchasing an AutoFrontiers retrofit cabin air filter kit.

AutoFrontiers is a brand of Layerforge Industries LLC. This product is designed as an aftermarket retrofit filter for vehicles that were not originally equipped with a factory cabin air filter. Please read this notice carefully before installation and use. Products sold by Layerforge Industries LLC are aftermarket components and are not guaranteed to comply with emissions, road-use, or inspection requirements. Use is at your own risk.

Proper Installation Required

This filter installs in the HVAC intake area above the blower motor/squirrel-cage fan. Correct installation is required for safe and proper operation. Before operating the fan, confirm that: (1) the filter housing is fully seated in the circular HVAC duct opening; (2) the rim of the filter housing is flush with the rim of the metal duct around the entire circle; (3) all retaining tabs, protrusions, or seating features are fully engaged; (4) no part of the filter housing contacts, rubs, or interferes with the blower fan; (5) the metal duct opening is round, intact, and not bent, deformed, damaged, or obstructed; and (6) the filter feels secure and cannot fall, tilt, or shift into the blower area. Do not operate the HVAC fan if the filter is loose, crooked, partially seated, not flush, or contacting the blower fan. Improper installation may cause the filter to fall into or interfere with the blower motor, squirrel-cage fan, HVAC ducting, or related components. This may result in noise, reduced HVAC performance, damage to vehicle components, or other unsafe operating conditions.

Customer Responsibility

This is an aftermarket retrofit product. The vehicle manufacturer did not originally design these vehicles with this specific cabin air filter system. The customer and/or installer is responsible for verifying proper fitment, installation, clearance, and safe operation before use. By installing and using this product, the customer accepts responsibility for confirming that the product is properly installed and compatible with the condition of the vehicle’s HVAC duct opening and blower assembly. Layerforge Industries LLC and its AutoFrontiers brand are not responsible for damage, loss, malfunction, injury, labor costs, repair costs, diagnostic fees, towing, incidental damages, consequential damages, or other claims resulting from improper installation, incorrect fitment, vehicle modification, damaged HVAC components, bent or deformed HVAC duct openings, failure to inspect clearance, or failure to follow installation instructions.

Additional Safety and Fitment Warnings

Inspect the HVAC duct opening before installation. Do not install this product into a duct opening that is bent, distorted, cracked, damaged, obstructed, or no longer circular. After installation, turn the blower fan on at the lowest speed first and listen for rubbing, scraping, clicking, vibration, or abnormal noise. If any abnormal sound occurs, turn the HVAC system off immediately and remove or re-seat the filter before further use. Do not force the product into place. If the product does not seat fully and flush, stop installation and contact AutoFrontiers for support before operating the HVAC system. Do not modify, trim, heat, bend, glue, tape, wedge, or otherwise alter the filter housing unless AutoFrontiers provides written instructions for that specific issue. Do not use this product with damaged, loose, missing, altered, or non-original blower assemblies, ducting, covers, or surrounding HVAC components unless compatibility and clearance have been independently verified. Keep loose tools, debris, fasteners, packaging, and other foreign objects out of the blower motor and HVAC duct before operating the fan.

Airflow Notice

Because this product adds filtration to a vehicle that did not originally have a cabin air filter, some reduction in airflow may be noticeable after installation. This is normal for cabin air filters. All cabin air filters create some airflow restriction because air must pass through filter media rather than an open duct. Vehicles equipped with factory cabin air filters also experience filtration-related airflow restriction, but owners may not notice it because the vehicle was designed with a filter from the factory. In vehicles that previously had no filter, the difference may be more apparent. Reduced airflow may also be caused by a dirty filter, clogged evaporator, debris in the HVAC system, a weak blower motor, blocked vents, or other vehicle-specific conditions. Inspect and replace the filter as needed.

Inspection and Maintenance

Inspect the filter periodically and replace the filter media as needed. If you notice unusual noise, vibration, reduced airflow, rubbing, fan contact, looseness, or movement of the filter housing, turn off the HVAC system immediately and inspect the installation. Do not continue using the product if it does not remain securely installed.

Use of Vehicle After Installation

The customer is responsible for monitoring vehicle HVAC operation after installation. Stop using the product immediately if there is abnormal noise, vibration, blower contact, a burning smell, restricted airflow beyond normal filtration resistance, or any sign that the product has moved from its installed position. Continued operation after warning signs may increase the risk of damage.

Professional Installation

This product may be installed by a vehicle owner or by a professional mechanic, but professional installation is not a guarantee of proper fitment or safe operation. The final responsibility for confirming fitment, clearance, and safe operation remains with the customer and/or installer.
